On March, 29, Greta Sherman, Sr. Vice President, Healthcare Strategy hosted a webinar entitled "Where Is Recruitment A Year after Healthcare Reform?" Greta focused on the fact that it has been nearly a year since the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) became law and in this short span of time, we are already experiencing the evolution of healthcare reform in terms of recruitment and retention. As a follow-up to last year's Healthcare Reform webinar, this session explored the PPACA's surprising impact on how we recruit. Greta addressed issues including: why are physical therapists, lab professionals and mammographers so hard to find and hire? What will the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) provision mean and why are acute care healthcare providers buying physician practices at a record rate? Greta also explained AOCs, CLASS and other acronyms that are emerging and shaping the face of healthcare. Participants also learned how healthcare delivery has been forever altered and how to build a successful recruitment and retention strategy in the face of these changes.
