TMP Works with Human Capital Institute on Social Networking, Recruitment Education and Research

TMP has joined forces with Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association, by sponsoring a new Social Networking and Recruiting education and research offering.

The Social Network offering, or "track," examines how recruiters and prospective employers can capitalize on new social networking technology to make connections, establish contacts and bring new talent into the fold. It also discusses the fundamental thought processes needed to be successful in the online recruiting world.

Amy Lewis, Director of HCI's talent acquisition community, said, "For many recruiters, a fat Rolodex was a sign of successful connections in the business community. Now social networking requires the know-how to convert that Rolodex into a modern workhorse – understanding new technologies and how to use them most effectively. TMP Worldwide is the ideal resource for demystifying the online social space for talent management, no matter what your level of experience."

As part of the sponsorship, TMP is hosting an HCI online webcast at 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 10th titled "Career and Social Website Evolution: Creating Collaboration in Your Acquisition Strategy." During the webcast, attendees will get an overview of how Web 2.0 – the concept of web-based technology to create collaboration among users—has redefined what lens employers should use when focusing on their career site design. The webinar will also discuss the employer career site as a social network, and how these new media can be integrated in your acquisition strategy. Attendance is free with registration at www.humancapitalinstitute.org. Each HCI Webcast is approved for 1 hour of recertification credit toward HCI's Human Capital Strategist designation (HCS) and may be eligible for credit toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
