For the third year in a row, use of mobile devices to access the Internet has nearly doubled. Excluding tablets, mobile Internet usage is now at 8.5% globally, up from 0.7% in January of 2009.

These statistics underscore what we already know; Mobile Internet has pervaded our lives. Accordingly, a mobile presence (e.g., landing page, advertising, etc.) is a must-have for organizations and brands.

At this rate of growth, one in every six Internet users globally will be accessing the Web through their mobile phone by 2013.
